After much research, I decided on mega slam and do not regret it. This is a solid, sturdy basketball hoop, and that’s exactly what I wanted. Raising and lowering to different heights can be easily done with 1 hand. My son absolutely loves it.

Installed myself for my son. Digging hole in rocky soil & lifting & mixing 20 80lb sacks of concrete were brutal. However, this made this hoop system incredibly stable & it does not shake or move at all.

When we made the decision to purchase a new basketball hoop, we did quite a bit of research. Ultimately settling on MegaSlam and the XL system. It is truly a giant and spectacularly imposing. The construction was easy to follow along with, although it was significantly heavier than I would've imagined. The quality of the packaging was well thought out and easy to decipher as you install in stages (cement & anchor), then pole and arms, then backboard. I was able to do the majority of the install on my own but did require assistance for the backboard as it is incredibly robust and well-made. It is stable, gives true bounce off the glass and will serve my family well for many, many years to come. I'm thrilled to have bucked tradition within our neighborhood and selected a much more robust, well made hoop than some of my neighbors. Only suggest I have, would be to list the weights of the individual components (e.g. Backboard and Pole) so you can gauge the liklihood of needing friends/family to help install. Would definitely purchase again, especially if you want a giant, structurally sound hoop that will put up with heavy usage (e.g. collegiate basketball player(s) and dunking).
