I think MegaSlam has the best build on the market. Goalrilla doesn’t even come close at a similar price point, and I’m not sure what more your getting for those priced at $2,200 or more. I also liked that we could buy direct and they made it super easy. I did a lot of research, and MegaSlam made the most sense. If you have the chance to see and touch one, it will be difficult to consider anything else.

After 15 years of hard use our bigbox store brand hoop was ready to be replaced. Our family of 4 boys researched all the major brands and offerings and came away feeling that MegaSlam 54 offered the best overall value based on the features and quality of the product. After extracting the old pole and concrete from the ground while carefully navigating the buried wires to our garage, we poured the new concrete and installed the anchor system. (See special note at the bottom). Given our schedule we waited more than a week before proceeding with the install. The instructions are very good and the parts are layout out and labeled very well which made the process very straight forward. Having all the washers attached to the bolts was a big plus over having to search for them a separate plastic bag. When they say you need 4 strong adults to do the backboard portion of the install, they are not joking. We've been playing on the hoop now for about a week and we couldn't be happier. IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTE: We paid so much attention to leveling the base plate and keeping wet cement off the J-bolt screw threads (that we had wrapped in plastic) that we didn't pay attention to the leveling of the J-bolts themselves. As a result 1 of them was fairly out of alignment which we didn't notice until we had taken the protective plastic off after the concrete had dried. We were a bit worried that we might not be able to get the pole on. However, MegaSlam provided enough room in the pole bottom for us to get it on --- just barely though. That would have been a major install blunder.

I love our megaslam hoop. I chose Megaslam over the comp because of the sturdy design and materials used, the backing of the product and the fact that it goes lower than other hoops out there. I’ve got 4 kids from ages 4-8, so I wanted something that would go low enough for my 4yo’s to play on and be sturdy enough for me to jam on. This hoops provides all of that. Very happy with my choice.
