I couldn't be more pleased with my Mega Slam 72 . It is a first class piece of equipment. First of all, the purchase procedure was smooth as silk and I have to congratulate, and thank, Mega Slam for the excellent packaging and delivery of this product. EXCELLENT JOB. There were only a few minor punctures of the heavy duty cardboard on its palleted travel from Texas to North Carolina. Second of all, it arrived much sooner than expected but that was OK with me. I am in North Carolina and I had a professional installer, out of Charlotte, Don and his son Michael, already lined up. He and his son did a truly wonderful job. I would mention them by their full names but your instructions were to not place full names in this review. It is so different, but nice, shooting to a pro-board instead of to my small Lifetime backboard. It took a few days to get used to shooting to such a beautiful and sturdy piece of equipment. I must say that the design, and method of installment of the Mega Slam 72, was truly awesome. There were no issues at all and Don and his son were meticulous in their workmanship. I can't believe that there is a better system out there in the marketplace than this Mega Slam 72.

I went back and forth between the major competitors looking for a beautiful and heavy duty basketball goal. I credit Mega Slam for their comparison video, which you can find on their website. Mega Slam was not a contender until the final moments of my search when I watched their video and compared it to other high-end goals. Not only is the price competitive, but it comes with pole pad, backboard pad, and UV protection for the price. When I unboxed it, I was legit impressed with how heavy the components were. These are military grade parts! I have a son in 7th grade and I have no doubt I'll be shooting hoops with his son on this very goal one day. It's 100% an investment I'm glad I made! It looks amazing in my driveway and it plays true to form. I installed this myself. Word of advice, get your friends to help. I lifted the 300lb post onto the foundation by myself. However, there is no chance one man can install the backboard alone. It took me and two buddies to do it. And I used the bucket of my tractor to lift it up.

When you purchase one of the largest and most expensive basketball goals on the market, expectations are understandably high—and the Mega Slam XL absolutely delivers. It arrived professionally packaged, clean, and—despite being spread across multiple boxes—not a single piece was missing. I especially appreciated that the initial components needed for assembly, like the rebar and anchor, were clearly labeled on the outside of the packaging. It saved a lot of time and guesswork. Assembly was straightforward but physically demanding—every part is heavy. By far, the hardest part of the entire installation was digging the hole and pouring the concrete. That said, the goal itself arrived in perfect condition with no dents, dings, or scratches—and even survived my amateur assembly unscathed. If I had to nitpick, the only downside is the number of cranks required to adjust the height. I wish it were one revolution per inch, but it's more like five or six per inch, which feels excessive. All in all, this goal has transformed our driveway into the neighborhood hangout spot and made our house the go-to hoop destination for every kid on the block.
