FAQ
The difference comes down to how extreme you want the structure and stability to be. – The difference is the pole size, rim type, and the overhang.
FX 72
Delivers true regulation performance with excellent rigidity, making it ideal for most homes, schools, and competitive training environments. It’s strong, stable, and built for serious play. The FX 72 has a 8” x 6” pole and a 4’ overhang. The FX 72 comes with collegiate flex rim. However, for an additional charge you can upgrade to the 180° Pro Rim during the check out process. To read more about the differences between these rim types click here.
FX Pro
Takes everything a step further. With a massive 12” x 8” pole, 5’ overhang, and additional reinforcement, it’s designed to be the most rigid system in the fixed height lineup. The FX Pro also comes with our 180° Pro Rim as a standard feature.
The extra overhang on the FX Pro creates more usable space under the basket, which directly improves both safety and playability.
Compared to more compact systems in the FX lineup, the FX Pro extends the backboard further away from the pole, allowing the post to be offset from the playing surface giving players more room to play without worrying about contact with the pole. This is especially noticeable on layups, reverse finishes, and during more aggressive play.
It also brings the experience closer to what you’d find on a regulation court, where there’s clear space behind the backboard. The result is a true “gym-quality” playing experience, especially for aggressive play like dunking, where stability and responsiveness are critical.
The FX PRO is indeed a heavy system that requires some muscle to install. For maximum performance there is no substitute for weight or mass, so the components are in fact heavy. With that being said, we have very detailed instructions and videos to assist. Our FX series is designed with a hinged base plate which allows most of the installation process to occur while the hoop is still on the ground and then tilted into place when ready.
