FAQ
The difference comes down to adjustable height vs. fixed height.
Mega Slam 60 (Adjustable height)
Designed for versatility. It adjusts from youth height up to regulation, making it ideal for families, multiple players, and long-term flexibility. It still delivers premium performance with a 60” glass backboard, ½” thick tempered glass, and a reduced 3’ overhang.
FX 60 (Fixed height)
Built for pure performance and strength. With a larger 8” x 6” pole and regulation 4’ overhang, it offers a more rigid, gym-like feel with virtually no movement, making it ideal for serious play and training.
Choose the Mega Slam 60 if:
• You want adjustability for different ages or skill levels
• The hoop will be used by a family or multiple players
• You want a reduced overhang for tighter spaces
Choose the FX 60 if:
• You want a true fixed height, gym-style feel
• The hoop will stay at 10 feet full-time
• You prioritize maximum stability and performance
The difference comes down to backboard size and budget, but both are fixed-height systems focused on rigidity.
FX 60
Designed for smaller areas at a budget friendly price, while still delivering elite stability with its heavy-duty 8” x 6” pole and 60” glass backboard.
FX 72
Steps up to a full 72” regulation size backboard, larger structure, and creating a more realistic gym-style playing experience available in a fixed height system.
Choose FX 60 if:
• Space is limited
• You still want premium performance without going full regulation size to preserve budget.
Choose FX 72 if:
• You want the closest thing to a real gym hoop at home
• You prioritize regulation backboard size
Both the FX 60 and FX 72 are fixed-height systems built with tempered glass backboards and share the same 8”x6” post size, 4’ overhang, and premium materials. The key differences come down to backboard size and overall playing experience.
The FX 72 features a full regulation 72" backboard, providing an official sized playing experience.
The FX 60 features a 60" backboard. This makes it a great fit for smaller spaces, while still delivering strong performance and durability.
Why upgrade to the FX 72?
• A full regulation 72" backboard for improved shot range and rebounding
• A more authentic, pro-style playing experience
• Better suited for serious players and skill development
When would you stick with the FX 60 instead?
If you’re working with a smaller playing area or have a tighter budget, the FX 60 is a great option that still delivers excellent performance.
Our FX series is designed with a hinged base plate which allows most of the installation process to occur while the hoop is still on the ground and tilted into place when ready. This well planned design alleviates the need for installers to lift the backboard. Our adjustable units require the backboard to be raised to the 5’ height level to be attached.
